Dr. Wang is a doctor of TCM with 13 years of professional experience at China’s prestigious Beijing Hospital. She was acting head of the department of acupuncture with 7 years of experience as the clinical instructor leading the training of medical students, residents, and international students in the art of acupuncture. Has worked as a clinical acupuncturist since her arrival in the US in 2002. Dr. Wang is fluent in Mandarin (Chinese) and English.
Dr. Wang specializes in acupuncture, Chinese herbal tea, cupping, and moxibustion, which is often used in pain management for headache, neck pain, shoulder pain, low back pain, sciatica, nerve pain (neuropathy), trigger finger, planters fasciitis, rejuvenation, weight loss, as well as many other pain management issues. It can also be beneficial for women’s health issues such as infertility, menopause, and PMS. It can even be helpful in alleviating side effects from chemotherapy.
Dr. Wang’s office is located in Albany, NY and she regularly sees patients from the Capital District — Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Niskayuna, Latham, Clifton Park, Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls, Amsterdam, and Utica. She also sees patients from Vermont and Massachusetts.
Upon graduation Dr. Wang was recruited by the 1000-bed Beijing Hospital as an attending doctor of TCM, July 1989. Due to outstanding clinical performance, she was promoted to acting head of the Department of Acupuncture, July 1997. She was selected as the training supervisor for that department to direct the clinical instruction of medical students, residents, and international students for Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center which is the World Health Organization (WHO) collaborating center for traditional medicine in September 1995.
Dr. Wang’s acupunctural areas of expertise include pain management, respiratory and gynecological disorders, immune system deficiencies, and weight control. Specific pain treatments have been performed for arthritis, knee and neck pain, joint problems, shoulder stiffness, headaches, migraines, sinusitis, back sciatica, tendonitis, pinched nerves, paralysis and numbness. She has cared effectively for patients with allergies, asthma, bronchitis, constipation and/or diarrhea, colitis, gastritis, endometriosis, infertility, PMS and/or menopause, chronic fatigue, depression and anxiety.
Dr. Wang is actively involved in acupuncture research and results has been published in peer-reviewed Chinese national and international journals. She possesses significant experience utilizing TCM and Chinese herbal tea for the treatment of health-related issues, as well as Tui Na and Acupressure. She is licensed by New York State as an Acupuncturist and has an integrated medical education in TCM and western medicine with a concentration in acupuncture, acupressure and Chinese herbology. Dr. Wang has completed both bachelor and post-graduate work at Beijing University Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing, China which is considered the #1 TCM University.
